About your teacher
I am Cheri Whalen. I live in Austin, Texas and teach at Cedar Park High School. I grew up in Denver, Colorado and I am so lucky to spend my summers there with extended family! I have three grown daughters that are the joy of my life! I am very proud of them as each of them attended Texas A&M University for their undergraduate studies. They have nine degrees between them now and still working on the next level! I have a rescue lab mix named William, who is my all time favorite buddy. He goes hiking and walking with me, he works on programming projects with me, and most importantly goes on all of the adventures that I can dream up! I love all things COFFEE and NEW TECHNOLOGY! I am so excited every time a tech milestone is reached and am fortunate to be teaching the next generation of creators.
I have a B.S and an M.S. in Computer Science. My passion is teaching computer science! I have been a teacher for twenty-two years, and I am always looking for ways to stay engaged in teaching and bringing fresh research based techniques to my classroom. This year I am teaching AP Computer Science Principles in SWIFT, Apple Mobile App Development, and MobileMakers Studio.
